The Gribben Stockyards "SHEEP DRAFTER" provides the facility to change the width of the drafting race while the sheep are moving in the race plus a radius arm block gate.

  • The drafting race is adjustable during drafting to regulate sheep flow and to accommodate sheep size (8 increments of width from 460mm to 220 mm)

  • Quiet operation as all gate touch points are rubber padded
  • Major components are hot dip galvanized for long term corrosion protection
  • Available for either left hand or right hand operation

  • Custom design to suit specific requirements
  • Manufactured with high tensile steel
  • Hot dip galvanized after manufacture
  • “Vertical inserts” are pressed steel with both edges rolled for safety
  • Horizontal rail panels also available
  • Choice of 3 draft systems

Specifications of Panels

  • Post at each end (50 NB) set in concrete
  • Panel finished height - 0.97m (3'2") if set 0.10m (4") above ground level
  • Panel lengths - 1.0m - 3.0m in 0.25m increments
  • 60mm x 8mm clamp between panels
  • “Horizontal rails" for panels - 6 rails - top rail 32 NB, others 25 NB

Specifications of yards

  • Work race - "horizontal rail" with "smooth top" joiners between panels, 40 NB posts;
  • Draft race and bugle approach panels to draft race are fully "blanked"
  • Gate hinges - clamp type or Gribben Stockyards "type 320"
  • Gate catches - "Y" type and chain and spring loaded cam action bolt on each gate

Three-way draft race is available in three options:-

  • fixed width (400mm unless other specified)
  • adjustable width
