Gribben Stockyards have a range of layout designs for permanent sheep yards to suit flocks up to 10,000 plus sheep.

All Gribben Stockyards layout designs are based on the bugle type system.
This, as well as the Gribben Stockyards vertical steel insert panel design minimizes the physical inputs, reduces stress and increases safety for the operator and assistants (dogs) as well as the sheep being worked.

Permanent sheepyard layouts can be custom designed by Gribben Stockyards to suit specific requirements (see page on Custom Design Service).

Gribben Stockyards permanent sheepyard components are all manufactured with high tensile steel and hot dip galvanized after manufacture. The higher elasticity of high tensile steel ensures higher resistance to stress loads than is obtained with structural steel. The hot dip galvanizing provides corrosion resistance in excess of the protection provided by materials galvanized BEFORE manufacture. Gribben Stockyards permanent sheepyards comprise hot dip galvanized steel panels set in concrete. The panels are available in both the "vertical insert" panel and the "horizontal rail" panel construction designs.

Features of our sheep yard panels are:-
· panel type:- post at each end (50mmNB) set in concrete
· panel finished height:- 0.97m (3'2") if set 0.10m (4") above ground level
· panel setting and attachment:- legs in contrete, 60mm x 8mm clamp between panels
· panel lengths:- 1.0m - 3.0m in 0.25m increments
· "vertical inserts" for panels:- pressed steel with both edges rolled for safety
· "horizontal rails" for panels:- 6 rails - top rail 32mm NB, others 25mm NB

Features of our sheep yards are:-
· work race:- "horizontal rail" with "smooth top" joiners between panels, 40mm NB posts;
· draft race and bugle approach panels to draft race are fully "blanked"
· gate hinges:- clamp type or Gribben Stockyards "type 320"
· gate catches:- "Y" type and chain and spring loaded cam action bolt on each gate
· the three-way draft race is available in three options:-
- fixed width (400mm unless other specified)
- adjustable width
- the Gribben Stockyards "SHEEP DRAFTER" providing the facility to change the width of the drafting race while the sheep are moving in the race plus a radius arm block gate.
